Accessibility Statement

Diabetes is a disability, often considered an invisible one, which impacts the endocrine system affecting a person’s overall quality of life. Diabetes affects activities of daily life (ADLs) and requires consistent maintenance throughout the day.

The Diabetes App understands that diabetes can accompany other physical or mental health conditions and we recognize that it can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and any other intersecting factors.

The work climate at The Diabetes App is accessible and inclusive to all our employees. We encourage and hire based on skill sets and knowledge. We offer a welcoming environment with flexible hours so our employees can spend time managing their blood sugar levels throughout the day. We also encourage our employees to take lunchtime walks or exercise breaks. Most importantly, upon hiring new employees, we ensure they are well-educated on diabetes.

We, at The Diabetes App, also ensure our Canadian and American employees with diabetes understand they are protected by the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These acts guarantee  people with disabilities their rights and protections in all areas of their lives (employment, government services, public accommodation, transportation, and more).

The Diabetes App is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive app and website experience to all of our users. If you encounter any problems on the app, please contact us at The Diabetes App.
