Let’s Get Talking and Create a Community

Proving those living with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetics help with their health, wellbeing and nutrition. I pride myself in living a healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically and have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for 13 years.

The early days of diagnosis were a challenge for me as I was just about to enter secondary school and I knew the social impact of diabetes will affect me, from; medication, making friends and social life out of school. I didn’t want to go on any school trips or even think about when I would need to do my insulin injections. I was very shy in the first couple of years of secondary school and knew that some of my friends wouldn’t understand diabetes and the implications that occur.

Fast forward 13 years, where I have learned to adapt my life to diabetes and now I control my diabetes, my diabetes doesn’t control me! Every day Is a new challenge where I am still learning about my body and it’s methods of handling my fast-paced life. I have been working as a chef for the last 10 years and you can imagine the levels of stress and anxiety that I have dealt with when working in a fast-paced, stressful environment. I aim to develop Into a new and exciting industry where I can work alongside all types of diabetes in helping and mentoring diabetes and individuals who are finding it difficult like I did in the early stages of diagnosis.

 I now qualified in level 2 in Diabetes care and management, fitness instructing and nutrition in food and passionate to share my story on how I managed to control and maintain my diabetes with fitness and nutrition at the forefront. Anyone who maybe is struggling with the early stages of being diagnosed with diabetes or are having complications within diabetes, I can offer a range of advice and techniques to keep your diabetes under control. Whether that be meal planning, exercise, nutrition, or blood glucose control.
